Seeing CLUTCH Live: Sounded Great BUT Very Boring
I have been listening to Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band since the early 90's on and off. They are an amazing band on record. However, in concert, they are lifeless and boring. The band sounded great and played well at Ft Lauderdale's Revolution Live this past Saturday, May 10, 2026. They put in the bare minimum. It was like watching disillusioned factory workers just putting in a day's work. They gave no energy onstage whatsoever. They played none of their real early fast heavy hits. Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band are Masters at their craft, playing rock-n-roll songs well. The band as a whole were very tight. However, that is all they did at the concert. Dan (bass player) and Tim (guitarist) were lifeless statues all night. Jean Paul (drummer) looked like an 80 yr old man with his long grey beard. Neil, the singer, appeared unkempt, wearing sweat pants. I do not claim to be a Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band disciple. I was simply looking to be entertained live by a band whose music I have enjoyed listening to for years at home or in my car. There was no personality from any of the band members. Neil the singer, who is an incredible songwriter, did not talk to his audience about the meaning of his insightful lyrics. Instead, he seemed to want to finish the show quickly, so he can rush back to his awesome tour bus to play video games and smoke-up. I have never seen them live before. I will continue to listen to Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band at home and in my car, but I have no desire to see them live again.
